American player John Catlin took the title in Vienna on the European Tour by beating in a tie-off German golfer Maximilian Kieffer. Lying in third place was fellow German Martin Kaymer three strokes further back. This was John Catlin's third win on the Tour and moved him to 24th position in the Race to Dubai and 79th place in the World Rankings.

Hideki Matsuyama from Japan gained his maiden title on the European Tour winning the Green Jacket at Augusta by one stroke. Lying in second place was fellow American Will Zalatoris, whilst a further two Americans, Xander Schauffele and Jordan Spieth were a further two strokes back. With this win Hideki Matsuyama moved to 14th position in the World Rankings.

The first three places in the WGC Match Play in Austin in Texas were filled by Americans. In first place was Billy Horschel, second was Scottie Scheffler, and in third was Matt Kuchar. This was Billy Horschel's maiden title on the European Tour and he took the first position on the Race to Dubai and moved to 17th in the World Rankings.
