from Canada San Lorenzo - nice but rough around the edges Course is picturesque with holes overlooking the bay and running along the boardwalk. It was very enjoyable to play except for Hole 18 which is overly punitive. The cart paths are in bad shape. The greens are in reasonable shape. With no clubhouse, the small area where you check-in and get loaded onto carts became very congested. Restrooms are good quality portable toilets and there is a temporary structure for food service. Giving us a box lunch was a nice touch.

from Germany San Lorenzo - a challenging and changeable pearl Great course where you have to think from the first Teeshot, what to do and which club to use. Huge bunkers defending the greens and specially the 8, the narrow 12, the 17 and 18 are really challenging. Large but difficult Greens, where hitting the ball to the right quarter is essential for any real birdie chance. Nice landscape accompanies the course. Only fly in the champagne may be inhomogeneous looking, but turfy fairways and the bit high greenfee.

from United Kingdom Stunning course but needs a little TLC I was tempted to mark the course down to a 3 but it is still undoubtedly located in a wonderfully unique location, skirting the Ria Formosa, so it’s a 4 presently (for me).
The course just needs a little TLC and it’s not too late, providing the owners invest quickly, to raise the standards a little to protect its heritage and reputation. I played the course 15-20 years ago when it was one of the best courses in Europe.

from Italy Millionaires Golf We were so lucky to have ‘Millionaires’ golf today. Despite the lack of a clubhouse, we were treated so well, water bottles and a sandwich in the buggy were a nice touch. Yes, there are more famous courses in the Algarve and almost spoilt for choice, San Lorenzo lives up to it’s reputation of condition, picturesque and tricky in places that demand quality shots, but immensely playable.

from Ireland Best layout in the Algarve ðŸŒï¸â€â™‚ï¸ The condition lets its down in places and when that improves it would be an easy 5/5 , the greens are in great shape and it’s just the tee boxes/fairways here and there let it down but not by much either. It has the best layout in the Algarve of the courses I have played and gets better and better from the 1st onwards , great finishing holes, I would highly recommend playing it
